Atmospheric and immersive
This is an excellent adaptation of the Sorcery series of game books and a very enjoyable presentation for game books in general.
Inkle have improved on the books a numerous ways. The music and ambient sound effects really bring the text alive, and the new "blind bid" combat system makes me feel like I have a little more control over the outcome than a pair of dice give me. My favourite improvement is the luxurious world map: its really helpful, not just in showing you the areas you havent explored (so you can better plan your next play through) but also helping you get a sense of the world youre in and the progress youve attained.
The game encourages multiple play throughs, and sets up the much larger Sorcery 2. I encourage you to get them both. Theyre really well written and make you feel like youre actually playing w/ a dungeon master, unlike what we typically label as an RPG these days.
