Sorcery

Rather disappointing for the price. This is the old Zork with a few pictures. The few decisions you do get to make really do not change the story much. There are not many places to get rations, so if your stamina is low, you cant do anything about it.

Very short for $5

People kept saying this game was short, it is. I beat it in one sitting and now regret paying $5 for this. At $1 or $2 I would feel better but youll end up spending $15 or more to finish the series

Not even the beginning of a game

Bought because 80 days was so awesome. Thoroughly disappointed as I thought this was a full game, was done in maybe 2 hours. Not worth it, play 80 days instead. Almost would ask for my money back, it was so short and so expensive.

Amazing!

I was savoring in the story, short but Im glad I got the bundle

Short, but vital prelude to Sorcery! 2

Like a lot of people, I was surprised at how quickly it was over. But then I carried my character over to Sorcery! 2 and had one of the best gaming experiences of my life. Like, Morrowind good. Try this out - if you like the appetizer, know that a feast awaits in the sequel, and that $10 for the two games is totally, totally worth it. Downloading part 3 as I type this.

A tad repetitive

Cool concept, particularly if you like the old text based adventure games. Drawings are appropriate and fun. Hard to stay interested though, which is a huge shame. Only played to the end -- which is totally anti-climactic, by the way -- because I had paid for the game. Glad I didnt go for the multi-pack.

To short

Its went to by to fast

Way too short!

Seriously, I finished it in an hour without even using more than four kinds of spells. What did I pay for? I can play a free game for hours. Seriously disappointed.

A piece of art

Truly a piece of art that should be displayed in a museum.

A good way to start a series

Although short, this game sets the theme and feel of what will amount to a very successful series. - Immersive dialogue - Original Art Design - Entertaining Combat System

Very nice feel, nice play, really short for the money

Truly enjoyable. Well designed. Art and music, very nice and I like the simple combat mechanics and controls. I want to give it more stars, but it really is short. In fact, longer would have earned it 5 stars. I was not expecting the end when it came.

Short but Worth it

This game is short, but it if you play Sorcery 2 and 3, you will be glad it is short. It is easy to replay many times to create different outcomes in Sorcery 2. You make certain choices that will make you really wonder if you did the right thing or not...and its nice that you can replay the game so fast to find out what your actions do. My least favorite of the sorcery series but necessary!

Not worth the money!

Way too short! Took about two hours to get to the end...feel like I got ripped off.

Pretty good, too short for its price

An interactive fiction in a fantasy world with beautiful art, nice music and sound effects, and an interesting story. The battle system is innovative and fun even with its simplicity. So the first time I played through it I thought thought it was fairly interesting but I guess I made many overly cautious decisions that had me explore almost none of the areas and fast-tracked me to the end. Since then I tried replaying it making different decisions and found it vastly more entertaining, clever, and interesting; still somewhat short for its price though. Overall i thought it was fairly easy except for a couple of challenging battles. If you enjoy fantasy settings and RPG gameplay I think you will appreciate the depth and imagination of this world. I would highly recommend multiple play throughs or at least replaying some of the parts of the story to find the more interesting paths to Khare. You will be rewarded for being adventurous in this game. Although the price is steep at $5 I am interested enough in the story and the game is high-quality enough that I will probably purchase part 2.

1985 Called- It wants its game back!

This game is so bad, I paid for Wi-Fi access on my flight just to write this review... Total piece of garbage. Text based adventure from 1985 where the "choices" make no difference- you lose your food, lose your health and die. Animation and graphics look like South Park circa 1998. The magic system is so obtuse, you have to call up this inventory to try and figure out the three digit code for the spell (more like a password)- except you cant cast spells because this little Elf tags along with you and prevents you from casting spells (what a great idea!). Steve Jackson made some OK games back in the 80s but they were always uninspired grinds, good to see that nothings changed. I bought the adventure pack, played through part of the first Sorcery!, deleted it, and deleted Sorcery! 2 without even trying it. Its games like this that remind me why the Freemium model exists...

Dont listen to the hate

Easily the best money ive spent on the app store! Sorcery! Is a great trilogy that has a good amount of replayability! If youre into fantasy and games pike dungeons and dragons, this is for you!

Game

Way too short for 4.99. Fun the first couple of times.

Its ok

I loved 80 days so I tried this. Not as good or fun.

What a rip off!

$5 for a game that lasts an hour with little to no replay value? Save your money. This is a total disappointment. I honestly could not believe it when the game ended. I buy a lot of apps and cant remember being as regretful over a purchase.

Garbage

Idiotic trash. Blind guesses, zero agency. Rewind and you will find that your mistake was choosing left instead of right; nothing you could have done to change the outcome. People criticize it for being short, I say that is one of the apps few redeeming features.
